The Amplify Lacrosse NX Level Academy is an opportunity for hyper-committed, focused lacrosse players to receive the absolute gold-standard of lacrosse coaching coupled with strength and conditioning training.
For maximum player to coach ration, The Academy will be limited to just two groups (one offensive and one defensive) of 20 athletes each. Students of The Academy will spend 2.5 hours on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the Fall at NX Level Sports and Performance- 1:15 with Amplify Senior Coaches and 1:15 with NX Level Coaches.
Major League Lacrosse starters Jake Richard and Ryan Brown will lead the lacrosse instruction, offering the same world-class coaching that has helped them reach the pinnacle of the sport. Both Ryan and Jake are also NCAA D1 Coaches at 2016 Big East Champion Marquette University.
On the NX Level side, Academy participants can expect to receive the same quality instruction that has produced hundreds of successful collegiate athletes and is trusted as THE source for performance training by NFL athletes such as JJ Watt.
Brown was selected 4th overall by the Hounds in the 2016 MLL Collegiate Draft. In 2016, the MLL rookie attackman made an immediate impact on the Hounds offense. He recorded his first professional goal in his first MLL game on June 3, 2016. Brown then went on to record at least one point in each game of the 2016 season. He finished the year with 23 goals (one 2-pointer) and seven assists in 10 games played. His 31 points ranked fourth-best on the offense. Brown scored a personal best of six goals in two different games, earning Cascade Rookie of the Week honors following each performance. He also finished second in voting for the Cascade Rookie of the Year Award to the Denver Outlaws’ Jack Kelly.
Brown played in 62 games over four seasons at Johns Hopkins, tallying 209 points (159 goals, 50 assists), 82 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers. He was named a Second Team USILA All-American in 2015 and 2016, as well as earned Honorable Mention in 2014. Brown was First Team All-Big Ten in 2015 and 2016, as well as the 2015 Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year.
At Marquette, Richard was a two-time team captain and helped lead the Golden Eagles’ unprecedented rise to national prominence in just four short seasons, culminating in their first BIG EAST Conference title and NCAA Championship appearance in 2016. The USILA Third Team All-American is one of just four All-America selections and three MLL draft picks in program history, and was the only short-stick defensive midfielder named All-BIG EAST in 2016 with second team recognition.
The West Chester, Pennsylvania native was second among all Golden Eagles with 63 ground balls in 2016 and ended his career second all-time at MU with 193. He was a fourth-round MLL draft pick of the N.Y. Lizards and proved himself to be a valuable member of the team’s midfield as a rookie. In his MU career, Richard caused 36 turnovers (third in program history) in addition to 193 ground balls, while also posting 12 goals and six assists in 61 career games. He shares the single-game program record for ground balls (9) with two other individuals and appeared in every game in the Golden Eagles’ first four seasons.
